Register Your Domain

Your first domain (website) will be registered by default during your demonshield.com signup.

To add another domain you can use this link to your domain management.

Download & Upload

Once the domain is registered you will need to download the DemonShield software and extract the file to your website. The download we provide will be in ZIP format containing a "DemonShield" folder. This folder should be uploaded to the Document-Root of your site. Commonly this is your public_html or www folder.

Installation

Once you have the files in place you should be able to access the DemonShield folder to begin your installation.

(ex: http://www.mysite.com/DemonShield/)

You should see a page similar to the screen shot on the right. Complete the form and press "Start Install".

The database login details are a requirement. DemonShield can use an existing database, or you can use an empty one. If you are unsure what your database login details are you may need to contact your host provider for these details.

The application will read through your setup and install based on the web-server configuration you have.

If this domain had already been installed to, or had a key assigned, you can get this key by going to your domain management panel.

If the installation fails it will advise you to contact support to complete the installation.

System Check

Once the installation has been completed, you will be directed to your DemonShield login page. This page will only appear once the software is active/installed.

It is recommended that you run a system-check after installation to verify that all directories on your site are protected.

This can be done by using the "System Test" feature under the Diagnostics section of the menu. The report should only show the "allow" folder as unprotected. If you have more than this appearing you can contact us for assistance.
